We are happy/scared/excited (did I mention scared) about our new journey of stopping the infertility meds or rather not starting repronex and start the journey of adoption or Foster-adoption. Repronex and doctors visits were going to reach $1,000+ a cycle - OUCH...... with no guarantee. From the beginning of our relationship, Duane and I have always talked about adoption - even before knowing about our infertility struggle. As Duane said - "They will be ours, because they will be loved by us".
We have experienced mix emotions from family members and all positive ones from close friends. No time to worry about those who are not quite on the bandwagon. They can choose to climb aboard or be driven over. Either way, we are motivated to find a child to love.
Anyone out there who knows anything about adoption or foster adopting - please share with us. We are really excited.

I just posted on TSB about this, so hopefully some very knowledgeable ladies will chime in with some advice! :-)

I just saw Jules comment on TSB and thought I would chime in. We adopted our daughter at birth through an open adoption with about an 8 month wait. When she was 1 we signed up again and unfortunately just hit the 3 year mark for our wait for our second. We have had alot of contacts but nothing that has worked. We recently had another contact that looks like it may be promising - time will tell. Rather than making this into a novel, just e-mail me and I'll give you more details of our experiences. Although I've not posted much, you can read a few posts on our journey at http://lddbaby.com/blog
It's quite a journey, but so worth it. . .
